Welcome to another PHP meetup. This time we will have one main talk and some shorter lightning talks. The main talk will be about GDPR from a web developers perspective. Nicholas will show a small web app he's building with Symfony Flex to benchmark small pieces of code.
The Data Protection Directive was agreed upon in 1995 and was implemented in a different national law in each EU country (DPA in the UK, PUL in Sweden, etc). GDPR takes effect in May and is intended to give back control of personal data to the affected individuals as well as have one unified law across the EU. Organisations who follow the current legislations stand well prepared, but there will be a need for development in areas like the extended rights of the individual.
Håkan Karlsson is an engineer who works with identifying and communicating business value at Pitney Bowes Software

This is a paid event
We are trying something new here. We are charging 29 SEK for this event. We are doing that for two reasons:
- We want to be able to buy giveaways like stickers, books and T-shirts
- We want to have a budget to pay for speakers from other countries
We are not going to pay any salary to the organizers. This event is driven by a non-profit association (ideell förening) and we exists for its members.
